Accounting is now required to do more than the analysis, verification and reporting of financial records, especially where economies are leveraging on Artificial Intelligence, AI, in order to perform tasks. At the opening ceremony for the Accounting Forum and Exhibition, the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy said, AI can transform data and provide deeper insights to key financial integrity; translating complex data into actionable business intelligence. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, added that the use of AI would further broaden the scope of work that an accountant can perform today. The event which was held by the Ministry of Finance and Economy carries the theme "Redefining the Profession: Shaping the Future of Accounting in Brunei Darussalam".

The two-day event aimed to promote the accounting profession, provide a platform for experts and members who are directly and indirectly involved to share knowledge and exchange views and experiences on issues and latest development relating to accounting as well as facilitating networking among the stakeholders.
